Orbs 3

The other day I was browsing through some of the various post on a graphics forum that I am member of and I came across a tutorial for 3DS Max orb modeling. I then said to myself, "I bet I can achieve this same outcome in C4D without reading the tutorial and using the image as my only reference".

Sure enough, I did. The modeling was the easy part but the lighting was a different story. It took hours of experimenting for the internal orb lighting to show through the orbs and achieve the desired lighting effect. Needless to say, I worked it out and am quite happy with the outcome.

Edit: The image still has some jagged spots due to a processor driver problem with my laptop. I hope I can have this sorted out soon as it has also completely disabled all sound whatsoever.
